Our chief instructor is John, who currently holds a 3rd dan in cobra freestyle kickboxing. He has trained at a number of gyms and small clubs throughout his martial arts journey and has held his MAIUK Level 1 instructors certification Since July 2017.

Forming Spartan Element Kickboxing Academy and starting his own journey as a club owner became a dream of John's after passing his instructors course in 2017, with the full support of his partner and students who have trained under him over the years, he was eventually able to make that dream a reality, launching Spartan Element in March 2024.

John has a real passion for martial arts and will work with each student to build on their strengths and work through weaknesses to ensure every student reaches their full potential and achieves the goals they aspire to. He also strongly believes that the students who train with us should be valued and have a voice that is heard and respected and that they are not seen as just an income or fee.

As per John's vision for the club, all profits after general running costs will be used to maintain kit to a good, safe state of repair, replace tired, worn out kit, provide up to date training to all instructors and volunteers and provide the high quality training experience our students deserve.

Aaron Turner

Aaron Turner  has just achieved his MAIUK Level 1 Award and is now a fully qualified instructor in his own right. Aaron has been a passionate supporter of Spartan Element since we included him in the very short planning stages during February 2024 when John  (chief instructor) made the decision that the the time was right to build his own club and since our official launch in March 2024, Aaron has worked tirelessly and given up countless hours of his free time to help us to build Spartan Element into a successful martial arts academy in the space of less than 2 years! Aaron didn't rush to take his instructors exam after passing his 1st Dan, but instead chose to learn through continued practice to ensure he had all the skills and knowledge to pass the exam with a high mark ensuring he would be able to competently and confidently run his own classes. 10 months after passing his 1st dan we were all confident it was the right time for Aaron to submit the exam, he did it and he passed with a very high pass mark. We couldn't be prouder of Aaron.
